We own our dreams. They are ours and ours alone. We owe it to ourselves to protect them. I believe the best way to protect your dreams is to never let them go. If you continuously keep them in the forefront of your mind, you will never lose sight of them. Below are some easy ways to help keep those dreams front and center.
Talk about them. Talk to anyone and everyone who will listen. When you keep verbally repeating your dreams, you create a strong sense of ownership. You will maintain positive affirmations about your dreams. Knowing that your friends and family are aware of your dreams, you will want to prove to them as well as to yourself, you are man/woman of your word.
Write them down. Describe your dreams in as much detail as possible.
Visualize them. If possible cut a picture out of your dreams and post them where you will constantly be reminded of them.
Research your dreams. The research will determine the feasibility and opportunities that exist for you to achieve them.
Protect them from the nay sayers. We all know who those people are. Share your dreams only with people who are going to encourage you to fulfill them. Limit your exposure from those who want to tear them down.
Remember dreams are the thoughts that inspire us and push us to try harder. They offer refuge. They get us excited. They can help to fill a void.
When you are following your dreams whether you have just started or you are half-way through, or even finished, you feel a beautiful sense of wonderment. Many times it can be contagious and can lead to others pursuing their own.
So remember as Will Smith said it best, "PROTECT YOUR DREAMS."
"The supreme object of life is to live. Few people live. It is true life only to realize one's own perfection, to make one's EVERY dream a reality."
Oscar Wilde
